Huaxi Hospital of TCM expands services with new surgery, treatment center

Huaxi Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) marked two developments on July 15, performing its first microsurgery for a meningioma and opening a new traditional therapy diagnosis and treatment center.

Microscopic surgery for meningioma has long been a challenge for primary-level medical institutions. In the past, patients diagnosed within the district had to seek surgical treatment at major municipal or provincial hospitals, forcing them to endure long journeys and high costs for accompanying care.

The successful meningioma microsurgery means that residents in the district can now undergo highly complex craniocerebral tumor resection close to home. 

The patient who underwent meningioma surgery will subsequently be transferred to the newly opened traditional therapy diagnosis and treatment center for systematic TCM conditioning.

A relevant person in charge of the hospital said that the hospital will continue to focus on the coordinated development of Chinese and Western medicine, linking neurosurgery, traditional therapies, and rehabilitation medicine so that residents in the district can enjoy effective and efficient modern surgical treatment without traveling to another city.
