Huaxi holds Spring Festival Cultural and Tourism activities

Huaxi district hosts a series of cultural and tourism activities that blend intangible cultural heritage performances, folk experiences and family-friendly fun, running from the first day of the Chinese New Year to the Lantern Festival, with some activities extending to the end of February.

On Shizi Street, a 15-day folk carnival is taking place. On the first, fourth, and seventh days of the Chinese New Year, 17 dragon and lion dance teams from local towns and streets competed fiercely. On the third day, there were mountain song duets, and on the fifth day, flower lantern opera performances.

From the second to the seventh day of the holiday, Gaopo Miao township hosted a festive celebration. Visitors could enjoy a special banquet, watch Lusheng dances and archery performances, and participate in traditional activities like making glutinous rice cakes and popcorn, as well as some nostalgic games.

Huaxi offered four river flower boat tours each night, with traditional "iron flower" performances literally exploding over the Nailong lawn.

Qingyan Ancient Town featured ancient-style flash mobs and a lantern corridor, with a lantern riddle guessing event on the night of the Lantern Festival.

Longjing village hosted a Village Gala on the ninth day of the holiday, where visitors could dress up in traditional costumes for family photos. The Huaxi Park New Year Market gathered traditional snacks and let people try their hand at making sugar paintings.1772011856508036938.png
