On Aug 16, the 2025 "Cool Guiyang · World Flavor Carnival" kicked off, highlighting Guiyang's goal to become a nationally renowned coffee destination and a hub for immersive coffee culture.
Brand building at the core: The city aims to cultivate champion and emerging coffee brands while integrating coffee with culture and tourism. Coffee will also be woven into Guiyang's "Six Cool" city identity, creating a distinctive urban brand.
Strategic support: Guiyang will roll out a series of supportive policies, including measures to support the high-quality development of the coffee industry, boosting confidence and growth for local enterprises.
Expanding the industry chain: To address high production costs, storage challenges, and limited processing, the city will strengthen the planting, processing, and distribution sectors – building a full coffee industry chain from seed to cup.
Promoting coffee consumption: Efforts will be made to encourage government departments and State-owned enterprises to source certified coffee products for receptions and business events. Tourism products will explore "coffee + scenic spot" packages to engage visitors.
Talent development: Guiyang will enhance training for international and domestic baristas and skilled coffee professionals, supporting local talent in global competitions.
