Guiyang becomes top holiday destination

Guiyang has emerged as one of China's top travel destinations for this year's National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holidays. According to China Railway's 12306 online ticket-booking platform, high-speed train tickets to Guiyang from many cities are sold out for the first day of the holiday.

Pre-sale data indicates that tickets for trips within Guizhou province and to nearby areas, such as Chengdu, Chongqing, Kunming, and Guangzhou, are in particularly high demand. Guiyang Railway Station anticipates holiday travelers will include tourists, people visiting family, and students, with long and medium-distance trips accounting for 60 percent of passengers.

Key routes, such as the conventional Shanghai–Kunming line and the Guiyang–Guangzhou, Shanghai–Kunming, and Chongqing–Guiyang high-speed lines, are expected to handle the bulk of the traffic.
