Looking for a cool summer escape? Head to Shuitang village in Gaopo township, Huaxi district, Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, where you can hike, fish, explore waterfalls, and enjoy a slower pace of life.

The highlight here is Baigongyan Waterfall, a stunning three-tier cascade with a total drop of 142 meters. The first-tier plunges 36 meters into a crystal-clear pool. The second, at 20 meters, splits into smaller falls that leap through a narrow gorge. The final 86-meter drop is the most dramatic – perfect for adventure lovers, who can try waterfall rappelling under professional guidance.

Shuitang is also a key source of the Sancha River. Along the way, small streams flow into shady pools, ideal for fishing beneath the trees. Wide trails, pavilions, and covered walkways line the creek, offering great spots for post-meal strolls, picnics, or barbecues.

In addition to the natural beauty and local culture, nearby attractions like Yunding Huahai Scenic Area and Mushu Park invite visitors to camp, explore, and unwind.
