Longjing village in Huaxi district, Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, charms visitors with its gray-tiled roofs, white walls, bustling artisan workshops, and gentle murmur of ancient spring.

Lining the village's stone-paved lanes are 67 cultural workshops, from spice shops to silver studios and dyeing houses, creating a lively atmosphere. With a history spanning over 500 years and a 98-percent Bouyei ethnic population, Longjing was named a "national ethnic minority characteristic village" in 2014.

Longjing has restored 44 historic homes to preserve its heritage, launched the "Hundred Workshops of Longjing" tourism brand, and welcomed 70 new "Longjing residents", which has injected energy into the village. For instance, dyeing workshop founder Zhang Tingting has created jobs for over 480 local women, turning her studio into a popular tourist destination.

Festivals such as the Liuyueliu festival on the sixth day of the sixth month of the Chinese calendar and bonfire parties offer visitors a rich cultural experience. In 2024, Longjing village attracted 220,000 visitors, generating more than 16 million yuan ($2.2 million) in tourism revenue and 1.2 million yuan in collective income. In February, it hosted the 2025 Spring Festival Village Gala showcase, drawing 35,000 visitors and kicking off the year with a tourism boom.
