This year, Huaxi district in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, is striving to achieve a GDP of over 100 billion yuan ($13.72 billion), with the added value of the secondary industry to increase by over 5.5 percent and the added value of industrial enterprises above the designated size — those with annual revenue of more than 20 million yuan, to increase by over 18 percent.

To achieve this, the district will promote industries and accelerate the construction of a modern industrial system with Huaxi characteristics based on its rich resources, strategic location, strong industrial foundation, and ideal scientific research conditions.

Huaxi district will seek to become a national industrial backup base providing key process support for high-end equipment manufacturing such as aviation and aerospace in Guizhou province.

In the ecological specialty food industry, the district will promote the development of the entire beef noodle industrial chain, with the total output value of the industry expected to increase by more than 20 percent.

Huaxi district plans to add more than 100 industrial market entities, 12 industrial enterprises above the designated size, and 13 specialized and new small and medium-sized enterprises, create three provincial-level green factories, apply for two provincial-level and two municipal-level enterprise technology centers, add more than six high-tech enterprises, and achieve a total industrial output value of over 12 billion yuan.

In addition, the district will add 300,000 square meters of standard factory buildings, provide more than 1,400 rental housing units for industrial workers, and build a comprehensive utilization project for steam waste heat, creating a provincial-level green industrial park.
