Huaxi district in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has been adhering to green and low-carbon development for years to boost the green economy. The Guizhou Resource Recycling and Reuse Vein Industrial Park (Guizhou Vein Industrial Park) is an excellent testament to Huaxi's efforts.

The vein industry refers to industries that turn solid industrial waste into reusable resources that can be used in production again.

Automobile dismantling is one of the key operations of the Guizhou Vein Industrial Park. Scrapped vehicles from across the province are continuously transported here. After being dismantled, sorted, and categorized, they are transformed into usable production materials and reintroduced to the market.

The park includes three sub-projects: medical waste disposal, waste appliance recycling and dismantling, and circular economy education and training. It is Guizhou's first comprehensive resource recycling industrial park.

All four major projects within the park are fully operational and are achieving their recycling and resource recovery goals. Once they reach full capacity, the park is expected to handle 5.5 million units of electrical and electronic product waste annually. This includes 100,000 scrapped vehicles, 13,000 metric tons of medical waste, 3,000 tons of waste plastics, and 100,000 tons of organic solid waste.

Through recycling, waste materials can be given new life. The establishment of the Guizhou Vein Industrial Park has driven the cluster development of renewable resource recovery and utilization, addressing gaps and weaknesses in collecting and treating medical and solid waste. This expands the scale of Huaxi's green economy and contributes to Guiyang's efforts to become a zero-waste city.
