Guiyang's largest aquatic market opens in Huaxi

Guiyang Aquatic World opened to the public in Huaxi district, Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, on Aug 19. 

According to Sheng Baoshan, general manager of the aquatic market, the market is being constructed in two phases. 

The first phase has a construction area of 95,000 square meters and consists of a seafood area and a freshwater aquatic product area. So far, 90 seafood merchants and 70 freshwater aquatic product merchants have set up operations in the first phase. The second phase will be built in the second half of 2022 and focus on the chilled and cold chain market. 

As the largest seafood market with the largest variety of seafood and the best environment in Guiyang, Guiyang Aquatic World is committed to becoming an urban commercial complex for catering, shopping, recreation and entertainment. 

It has transformed the dirty environment of the old seafood market by adding green space, optimizing the layout and decorating.

The market is managed by a professional operation team which has set up a food testing center to ensure that each product entering the market undergoes food safety testing and is safe.

"The consumer groups of aquatic products in the market cover the whole province, with 88 districts and counties in the province buying goods wholesale," said Sheng.

The market is one of 14 markets of the district's Shiban Modern Business Service Park.

The park focuses on the sale of agricultural products, hardware and electromechanical products. There have been 16 domestic and foreign business associations and over 10,000 market players in the park. 

Last year, the park's transactions exceeded 48 billion yuan ($6.95 billion) in value and received more than 50,000 daily visits, making it one of the most popular parks in Guiyang. 

Next, the park will continue to improve its business environment and guarantee the water supply of Guiyang Aquatic World, ensuring the normal operation of market operators.
