A grand ethnic parade and carnival, held in the runup to China Tourism Day on May 19, was held in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, on May 18.
A 200-person phalanx from Guiyang's Huaxi district, along with parade teams from other districts, presented a vibrant display of dazzling ethnic customs on the streets of Guiyang. The traditional costumes and performances of various ethnic groups, including the Miao, Dong, and Bouyei, provided the audience with a spectacular visual feast.
During the parade, the Huaxi phalanx gave a performance of the Miao dance "Maohua Qunfei". The display featured 100 dazzling motorcycles and 100 Miao dancers, showcasing Huaxi's mountain tourism culture, unique Gaopo Miao culture, and motorcycle culture, eliciting continuous cheers and excitement from the crowd.
On the day, a total of 25 parade phalanxes, composed of over 2,700 participants from nine cities and prefectures of Guizhou, 10 districts and counties of Guiyang, and various specialty teams, participated in the grand parade. Both local residents and visitors from afar engaged enthusiastically with the parade teams.
