A unique bilingual event titled "Heirs of Tea Mountain" recently kicked off at the Yuhuang Ancient Tea Mountain in Qiantao township, Huaxi district in Guiyang. More than 40 children gathered at the tea mountain to participate in a series of activities in their role as "bilingual journalists", delving deep into Chinese tea culture.

Before the event started, children read a bilingual list of words and sentences related to the event.

At the tea mountain, these young journalists learned about tea classification and the different types of tea such as green tea, black tea, and oolong tea, along with their respective characteristics. Next, they learned how to pick tender tea leaves from tea bushes.

They also learned to make tea from the tea-making experts, witnessing the whole production process from fresh leaves to tea. This not only deepened their understanding of tea production, but also allowed them to appreciate the hard work done by tea farmers.

In addition to learning about tea, the children delved into the story of Zhou Yuhuang through role-playing. Zhou Yuhuang, a talented individual born in Qilong village near the tea mountain, achieved the top score in the provincial examination at the age of 22, and at 29, he successfully passed the imperial examination, ultimately becoming a teacher to the emperor. Not only did he achieve remarkable success in his career, but he also stood out as an extraordinary poetry talent in the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911).
