Activities boost spring tourism in Huaxi

During the three-day Qingming Festival holiday on April 4-6, Huaxi district in Guiyang welcomed countless visitors. Of the city's top five most popular scenic areas, two are in Huaxi –Qingyan Ancient Town and the Huaxi National Wetland Park.

In Qingyan Ancient Town, visitors strolled through the streets and admired the exquisite ancient buildings while also enjoying the distinctive local cuisine.

Meanwhile, in Shilihetan Wetland Park within the Huaxi National Wetland Park, the budding trees and blooming flowers inspired a number of residents and visitors to engage in spring outings. It also became a popular destination for family-friendly tours.

In addition to appreciating natural views, a cloisonne enamel-related exhibition held by the Guiyang Museum provided visitors with a cultural feast. Zhang Xuanming, a local student, said that cloisonne enamel is a cultural intangible heritage, thus the exhibition offered him a chance to gain deeper understanding about this art form.

In order to promote Qingming culture, a traditional cultural event was staged at the Confucius Academy on April 4. Citizens and visitors were invited to enjoy spring tea, wear spring flowers in their hair, stroll through markets, and watch performances. The event attracted over 30,000 visitors.
