Huaxi district in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has been focusing on the integration of government services, process optimization, document streamlining, and efficiency improvement since the beginning of this year in order to further optimize the local business environment.
The district has sorted out and integrated high-frequency business matters related to natural persons and legal persons, and set up comprehensive handling windows for various affairs, streamlining 140 common application documents and reducing handling time by over 50 percent. These efforts have satisfied the business needs of most enterprises as well as individuals looking to deal with multiple affairs at one window.
Green channels have also been opened for people with disabilities, in which eligible individuals can submit applications at a special barrier-free window, after which staff members of government departments will handle all required tasks on their behalf. A special counseling area for senior residents has also been opened in which staff members accompany them throughout the process.
In addition, Huaxi has integrated business handling online and offline and built a 24-hour self-service government service area to allow enterprises and the public to enjoy efficient and convenient government services. The district has so far had 1,253 out of 1,572 items dealt with online.
