Local celebrities promote Huaxi's charm

The 2022 Huaxi Summer Season series of activities kicked off in Huaxi district, Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, on July 20 and will run until late October. 

Several local celebrities in sports, tourism, culture, food, and music promoted the district's unique charm to potential visitors at the launch ceremony.

Chen Xiaoyi, who was the first Guiyang person to climb Qomolangma (also known as Mount Everest) in 2022, recommended Huaxi's food and scenery. 

"I have been to many places around the world, and there is no place like Huaxi that is cool in summer. And the beauty of Huaxi is unique: it has mountains, grasslands and streams like traditional Chinese paintings, and I feel very happy to live in such a picturesque city," Chen said.

At the launch event, accompanied by traditional Chinese musical instruments, Shi Xing, president of the Guizhou Boya Academy who has lived in Huaxi for 11 years, shared the cultural charm of Huaxi to the audience through a recitation. 

In addition to recommendations by celebrities, various cultural, artistic and sports performances were staged at the launch ceremony.
