The waste incineration power plant located in Yanlou town, Huaxi district, Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, is Guiyang's first comprehensive domestic waste treatment and environmental protection power generation project.

The project covers an area of 120 mu (8 hectares) and is being built in two phases. It is being funded and built by Guiyang China Power Environmental Protection Power Generation Co.

The first phase handles 1,200 metric tons of domestic waste per day, with an annual processing capacity of 430,000 tons, and is mainly for the disposal of domestic waste in Huaxi district, southern Nanming district, the Guiyang Economic and Technological Development Zone, and Guian New Area.

Since the first phase began operating in 2018, it has processed 1.3 million tons of domestic waste and generated 530 million kilowatt-hours of electric energy production.

One unit of the second phase is expected to begin operating at the end of this year, while the second unit is expected to begin operating in June 2022. By then, the total daily processing capacity of the project is expected to reach 2,400 tons.

Guided by the carbon peaking and neutrality strategy, Guiyang China Power Environmental Power Generation Co will also use its technological accumulation and management strength in the field of waste incineration power generation and new energy, focusing on new energy markets such as wind power and photovoltaic power.
