In order to help boost its overall rural revitalization, Huaxi district of Guiyang – capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province – has focused on upgrading the development of its popular yellow peach sector.
Yellow peach growers in the district are now employing the public brand name Huaxiaotao in their joint marketing, packaging, sales, quality control, management and image building – which is seen as being important to help build up the yellow peach so it becomes a leading agricultural product in Huaxi.
The Nongfu Garden in Shanwangmiao village, in Qingyan town in Huaxi, is a leisure and entertainment venue that integrates fruit picking camping, fishing, barbecues and sightseeing.
The garden has about 400 mu (26.67 hectares) of yellow peach fields and the peaches are now at their best picking period, with visitors allowed to get stuck in. In addition, there are currently grapes, raspberries and other fruit that can be picked by tourists.
In 2018, Huaxi district successively introduced new yellow peach varieties from Jiangsu and Hunan provinces and began planting them in Qingyan, Yanlou, Jinzhu towns.
In the process of developing the yellow peach industry, a cooperative model has been adopted, allowing farmers to directly participate in the operation of the venture.
Moving forwards, Huaxi plans to restructure its industry and complete the development of the fruit industry, to help boost the local rural revitalization.
