Huaxi aims for thriving development over next five years

During the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2020-25), the Huaxi district of Guiyang – capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province – plans to promote its economic development, expand its rural revitalization and all-for-one tourism, go increasingly green and improve the lives of its residents.

In terms of the its urbanization, plans are for Huaxi to renovate more than 1,000 households in shanty towns and more than 1,500 households in old communities, and conduct comprehensive treatment on 30 back streets and alleys.

In addition, the district plans to accelerate the development of important projects under construction including the Taibang biological product production base, as well as advance the transformation and upgrade of key enterprises – among them, Guizhou Taibang Biological Products Co and Guizhou Jingmu Building Materials Co.

To promote the innovative development of the services industry, the district will improve infrastructure at the railway customs supervision zone, develop its modern logistics and automobile sector, as well as promote the upgrade of the Mengguan International Auto City.

Another goal is that full coverage of 5G networks in crowded places, at important scenic spots and at rural tourist attractions will be achieved within five years.

It is understood that to further promote rural revitalization, Huaxi will develop 8,200 mu (546.67 hectares) of high-yielding farmland and a 78,300 mu grain production area.

Meanwhile, the district will continue to improve its urban and rural subsistence allowances and education subsidies – as well as focus on employment and entrepreneurship, in addition to general improvements in medical health and the environment, to improve the community's sense of well-being.
