Huaxi launches first online shopping festival for Lunar New Year

The First Online New Year Shopping Festival of Huaxi district in Guiyang, the capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, was launched on Jan 25.

The activity aims to better implement the epidemic prevention and control measures during the Spring Festival, provide convenience for people to purchase the Lunar New Year goods and reduce the number of people gathering in public to buy products.

The online shopping festival also allows Guizhou people who celebrate the Lunar New Year outside the province to enjoy their hometown's authentic tastes. Top products include locally produced sausages, preserved pork, cured pork ribs, peppery chicken and tea.

Anyone interested can search the WeChat applet Cunguagua (村呱呱) to participate in the online activity and buy goods without leaving their home.

The online festival will last until Feb 6.
