Huaxi District People's Hospital begins process of relocation

The groundbreaking ceremony for the Huaxi District People's Hospital relocation project was held on June 12.

The relocation site is located on the east side of Evergrande Cultural Tourism City in Huaxi district, Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, with a land area of 104,062.94 square meters.

The new site will include 800 standard beds and establish or improve 26 departments and nursing units, with the aim of building a three-level general hospital.

It will give full play to its roles of regional trauma emergency center, neonatal intensive care center, maternal treatment center, stroke center and chest pain center.

After completion, the Huaxi District People's Hospital will become a demonstration base for regional medical and health development, greatly improving the medical environment and ensuring the medical needs of local people, as well as enhancing the district's ability to provide treatment services.

Officials said it is necessary to strengthen the training of medics, especially the cultivation of general practitioners, and accelerate the reform of the medical and health system, to ensure the comprehensive improvement of the level of Huaxi medical and health services.

Also, the district is required to attach importance to the quality of the project, and to complete the project as soon as possible.
