Huaxi district in Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has achieved full coverage of safe drinking water in rural areas.
In 2019, the district took rural drinking water safety as a key factor in improving people's livelihoods, and implemented 20 rural drinking water safety projects.
In order to understand the status of rural drinking water safety, the water bureau of Huaxi district has carried out large-scale investigations in the district.
Facing the shortcomings in the safety of rural drinking water, the bureau arranged 1.68 million yuan ($237,063.8) of project funds for eight drinking water projects.
The eight projects affected a total of more than 90 households with over 300 poverty-stricken people, and all of them have been completed and put into use.
The bureau has also allocated more than 600,000 yuan to install disinfection equipment for 178 rural drinking water projects in the district.
The relevant departments organized a sampling test of the water quality of 178 drinking water projects in the district, and the water quality testing indicators of all 178 projects were acceptable.
