Relying on a long history of tea-growing and a rich tea culture, Jiuan village in Huaxi district, Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has vigorously developed its tea industry in recent years.
There are more than 54,000 ancient tea trees in Jiuan village, which is the oldest and largest plantation of cultivated shrub-type small-leaf tea trees found in China.

At present, the planting area of tea trees in the village has reached more than 20,000 mu (1,333.33 hectares).
It has won titles including being named one of the top ten most beautiful tea villages in Guizhou; one of the top 100 villages for afforestation and greening in China; the hometown of ancient tea trees in the Chinese plateau; one of the top ten tea travel destinations in Guizhou; China's important agricultural cultural heritage award; and a Guizhou provincial ecological town.
The products processed with Jiuan tea have become well-known brands in Guizhou province and are exported to many countries and regions around the world.
