Raorao village, land of idyllic beauty

Raorao is the only village inhabited by the Bouyei ethnic group in Gaopo town in Huaxi district, administered by Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province.

It has rich ethnic characteristics and a beautiful environment. Its forest coverage is about 75 percent, with a forest area of 181.77 hectares. The magnificent nearby Hongyan Canyon in the district still retains its the original forest landscape.

The village is located in a highland at an average altitude of 1,500 meters, mainly featuring karst landforms, with a subtropical monsoon climate with abundant rain.

In recent years, relying on the original terraces as well as Hongyan Canyon, the village has developed a number of a number of rural tourism concerns that integrate agricultural tourism, agricultural production and sales, national cultural heritage, pastoral scenery appreciation and farming experiences.
