Huaxi district gets results in supporting businesses

Huaxi district in Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China’s Guizhou province has speeded up implementation of 19 measures to support the stable development of resident companies during the novel coronavirus epidemic prevention and control period, achieving good initial results, according to local officials.

One resident company in the district, Guizhou Taibang Health Co, obtained 1 million yuan ($141,360) in municipal subsidy funds.

The district issued letters to 18 companies, informing them it was reducing their basic electric bill, and one company was waived basic electric charges of 203,200 yuan.

Among the business service companies, 15 companies applied for water, electricity and gas subsidies, three companies applied for sale incentives and three companies applied for online sales subsidies.

Officials said that to date, Huaxi district had accumulatively applied for the deferred payment of social insurance premiums of 83.63 million yuan for 545 companies and handled the deferred payment of medical insurance for 234 companies.

It also deferred tax payment for 27 enterprises and 4,120 self-employed enterprises and exempted value-added tax and urban maintenance tax of 260,900 yuan for enterprises that donated towards the epidemic prevention and control.

Officials said that in addition, landlord companies in the district had reduced rents for small and medium-sized tenant enterprises by 2,799,900 yuan.
