Yang'ai Maofeng ("Maofeng" literally "peak fur") is a famous green tea leaf which was successfully developed in 1960 and is produced in the Yang'ai Tea Plantation in the southwest suburb of Guiyang City.
Yang'ai Maofeng is slightly curly but tender and evenly colored in vivid green, with white hairs (aka. fur) that cover the leaves and needle-like ends. Rich fragrance and pure freshness are evident after it has been boiled to the point the liquid and leaves are bright green. Whether judged from quality, appearance or color, smell or taste, Yang'ai Maofeng has to be the most treasured of tea leaves.
Yang'ai Maofeng is rich in nutrients and beneficial to health as it contains many kinds of amino acids, caffeine, tea polyphenols, and other substances. It regulates the physiological function of the whole body, reduces blood sugar and blood lipids, prevents angiosclerosis and enhances detoxification and anti-cancer effects in vitro. On top of that, its rich microelements, especially selenium (Se) and strontium (Sr), are more conducive to being fully absorbed into the body after combining with organic compounds.
